Section 2 : Import Data

Importing data, will bring your data into the Review Grid before finalising the data into your Product Grid

2.1 Importing Data

To start the Import process, Users can either select selected lines, or check the select all header tickbox to import everything. A selection option must be activated to continue to the Import button. The user must click on the Import button from Dashboard page to continue to import any data. Once clicked, they will be redirected to a new window from where they can select the Import channel to use and upload the file with the data to be imported. Once the selection is made, then Users can start the process:

  • A notification is displayed on top right of the screen

  • A new row is added on Imports Dashboard screen

  • While the import is running, Users can navigate between pages or start a new import

Users can import a xlsx or CSV type file. For csv imports, once the file is attached on Import data page, the user must select the used delimiter used.

2.2 Imports Dashboard and Review Page

On Imports Dashboard page, Users has an overview over the imports that have been done over time. There are three main features available on this page:

  1. A detailed overview on the last import

  2. A list with all imports that have been done

  3. The possibility to review the imported data

Users have access to a Review page for each import where they can enrich the data before finalizing the import and sending the products to Products grid. The Review page has the same functionalities as the Products Grid (see Review/Products Grid Editor), except persistence of columns configuration.

On the Review Dashboard page, users can now delete an import. The delete action will not affect the existing products from Products Grid.

2.3 Data Display and Validation

Users can select between different data types for their columns. The available data types are: Text, Number, Number with decimals, Currency, Date, Hyperlink, Image, Long Description.

For Text column, Users can set a minimum and maximum character limit. When the content from the cell does not match these limits, they will be market with Format issue highlight.

For Currency, Number, Number and decimals a minimum and maximum value can be set. When the values from the cell are lower or higher, then they will be marked with Format issue highlight.

For Date columns the correct format is DD/MM/YYYY. When this format is not respected, the cells with be marked with Format issue highlight.

For columns with type Enumerated list, values are validated only when they match the values from an assigned list. Otherwise, they are marked with Format issue highlight.

For Long description/Image/Hyperlink columns, when double clicking on the cells, a dialog box opens which supports large paragraphs and long hyperlinks.

2.4 Page Auto-Save

When modifying data on both Review and Products grid, the modifications will be automatically saved. Users will see the "Saving" label next to Review and Products headers.

2.5 Last Column View Saved

When moving, hiding or viewing columns, (From within the product grid or preview grid) the last used view will be the same view shown when opening the program at a later stage.
