Section 5 : Unique Identifier
The Unique Identifier allows you to add new data to an existing item within the Product grid.
5.1 Add Unique Identifier per Channel
Users can now add a Unique identifier on each Import Channel. The Unique identifier is formed of a combination of columns which defines the uniqueness of a product in Products Grid. Only the PIM columns mapped to the Channel are available for selection.
Change unique identifier on Import page
On the Import data page, when a Channel is selected, Users can see which is the set Unique identifier for the selected Channel. Users can modify it and the modification is valid only for the current import.
Display status and unique identifier on Review screen
Once the import process is done and the data is available on Review page, Users see on this page 2 new elements:
the Unique identifier section - from where Users can change it again
the status of products:
New - products with this status do not exist in the Products Grid
Modified - products with this status are identified as existing in Products Grid, based on the selected Unique identifier
Finalize import
For imports that have a Unique identifier selected, a new step is added when clicking Finalize data button. Users see a new screen from where they can select how they want to proceed with the import:
(1) adding only the new rows available in the file (Insert New Data)
(2) adding both new rows and update existing row (Update Existing & Add New Data).
When choosing the Update Existing & Add New Data, Users can select which columns they want to take into consideration when doing the update. When columns are selected, then only these will be updated in the Products Grid with the new value. The values of the other columns will not be changed in the Products Grid.
For new rows, the Update Existing & Add New Data mapped to the Channel will update Existing & Add New Data
As final action on this screen, Users can select if they only want to:
(1) Update existing products
(2) Update existing products and Insert new ones
Please note! Users cannot select (using checkboxes) in the Review page which rows to Insert/Update. The finalize process applies for all rows available in Review page
